Michael Charalambous, in my books, the best hairdresser on
the planet has just opened his rather gorgeous new salon in a quiet corner just
off Sloane Square, Chelsea.
“A touch of Mayfair in Chelsea”, is how Michael described
it. “Most of my clients live in the vicinity of the area and what they wanted
to see was a five-star salon in Chelsea. So here we are bringing new life to
the area.”
The salon feels intimate and has a great atmosphere. So much so you don’t want to leave.
There is a super coffee bar with “dancing lizards” which
give the salon an edgy feel. The beauty rooms have the state-of-the-art
equipment. The efficient beauticians will pamper to your every need from a
manicure to detox massages to semi-permanent make-up. Or if you need your tresses doing at the last
minute you can pop in, without an appointment, and get it done at the blow-dry
bar.
Continuing with the theme of excellence, Michael has plumped
for Matis, skin care products. This highly-regarded French brand has been
producing innovative and high performance products for over 75 years which is
testament to its quality and efficiency.
You know you have a great cut when other people and
hairdressers comment favourably on your mane. But, in my books, the acid test
of an outstanding cutter is how your hair behaves when you wash and dry it yourself.
Michael knows what my locks do and works with them. Albeit not as smooth as when
in the hands of a pro when I style it
myself, it still looks good!
