Blow-drying tips for a bob

This is not a paid post.

Bobs and lobs are the hair-cuts of the moment and the trend looks like
carrying on into the autumn.

But how do you style your hair so that a bob does not look old-fashioned?
Firstly, forget voluminous blow-dries and rounded ends and think sleek.
Mane man Michael Charalambous, advises using a round ceramic brush. After
prepping your hair with your favourite styling product, rough dry your hair,
constantly moving the dryer. Try not to use the high settings as the heat
can be too harsh on the hair.

"How much will depend on the texture of your hair," says Michael. "If it is
curly or wavy you will want to leave more moisture than if your hair is
straight," he says.

Michael stresses that you should make sure the underneath sections are styled properly. This creates the foundations so your blow-dry will last longer. "Pin the top
section out of the way and dry the underneath with a round brush.

"Work section by section keeping your wrist straight. Insert the brush
underneath the hair, holding it tight to create tension. Slide it through
the hair following it with the dryer, keeping the nozzle pointed downwards.
Once that is done, work on the top.

"Drying all hair that is behind the ears forward will help to create root
lift and make it easier for you to blow-dry.  Again work in chunks, pulling
the hair taut using the brush. Once dry push backwards and into place. Now
finish the front."

Remember, practice makes almost perfect! Perfection is why you go to the
hairdressers.
