Hydrated skin looks plumper and radiant as well as feeling softer. Any skin type can become dehydrated. Dry skin lacks oil. When the top layer of the skin is lacking in water it is defined as dehydrated.
Rough and flaky skin
is an indication that it is dry. If it looks dull,
feels tight and is rough
to the touch, it is crying out for a drink. If you have wrinkles before your time, it could mean that your skin is dehydrated. As you get
older it becomes harder to maintain high moisture levels.
Clinique’s new Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-replenishing
Hydrator (£36) is a great aid to keeping your skin hydrated. According to the
company: “Auto-Replenishing Technology uses caffeine to kick-start skin’s own
water ‘pump.”
It is no good hydrating the skin if you do not attract
moisture and prevent it escaping. So you will also find it loaded with aloe
water, humectants and hyaluronic acid to ensure the job is done as well as
possible.
This gel-cream has a cooling effect and feels great on. Your
complexion feels and looks radiant even after washing your face. It is wonderful for flying and
holidays. I used plenty of this on a recent trip. I was really pleased with the
results.
