When I read the press release from Boots about its new No7 Laboratories Line Correcting Booster Serum (£38) I had to admit I was sceptical. Could your face really appear five years younger?
It also stated that after two months 77 per cent of women
said the product gave them better results than they thought possible from
skincare and 73 per cent said they were less likely to consider Botulinum toxin
treatment.
The latter statement made me sit up. Years ago, I got blood
poisoning from a mosquito bite. When a couple of months later I joked with my
doctor about saving up for Botox and fillers, he scolded me and said that for
somebody who could have died from an insect infecting them, I should not
entertain the idea of injecting myself with something that could have a harmful
effect on me.
So, I had no other choice but to age gracefully. Luckily, I
have good skin and am not really lined. Yes, those stubborn lines between brows
and those nasolabial folds could be better but there was not much I could do
about them. The only way I was going to find out if this non-evasive treatment
worked was to trial it.
The bottle resembles a syringe so you already you think you
are on to a good thing. It is also suitable for sensitive skin. Another box
ticked for me. The hero ingredient is Matrixyl 3000 Plus which Boots claims
regenerates the skin by helping to boost essential elements lost in age such as
elasticity. Stronger skin should mean less sagging and fewer lines. Good news
so far.
I have to admit that
after a couple of weeks I did not see a difference. However,
after a month I saw the
lines between my forehead soften. As the weeks went on I saw a definite
improvement. Who needs to take risks when you can have No7 Laboratories Line
Correcting Booster Serum?
