Why blog all about hair?

As former editor and publisher of one of the first cutting edge fashion websites, Zoom.co.uk* (recognised by The Good Web Site Guide 2007 as an “excellent magazine-style site”) as well as having worked in national press, I have come across a variety of hairdressers.

Over the years, I have put my hair into the hands of several “media darlings”. Most experiences have been good but there have been some unfortunate results. I’ve had layers cut that shouldn’t have been there, leaving what looked like a lump at the back of my head, my hair has been cut shorter than I wanted, and one hairdresser who should have known better used thinning scissors on my fine hair. When it comes to colour I’ve been too dark, too warm and yes, even too ash blonde.

Happily, through trial and error I have managed to find hairdressers who can talk the talk and walk the walk. I keep getting asking questions about hair and so, I have decided to share my knowledge with you because, as we all know, our hair is our crowning glory and bad hair days can be avoided with a little know-how
