This autumn’s bob

The bob has always been my go-to hair style. Longer, shorter, layered or one length, it is so versatile. You can wear it sleek, or tousled. It also happens to be one of the autumn’s most requested styles.

Over the summer, as was the trend, I went with my natural texture and had more layers cut in and wore it messy. As the seasons are changing, I want to have something a little more chic.

My incredible hairdresser, Michael Charalambous, took one look at my hair and decreed longer, heavy layers and more rounded. Michael has his finger on the pulse and is always updating my cut. No chance of ever looking frumpy or dated.

“Many clients are wanting a shorter style now,” he says. “Wispy layers are being replaced with chunkier versions.”

Michael quickly worked his magic with those scissors. In moments the reversed-angle bob was gone and in its place was a heavy more rounded version.

“One more cut to get it absolutely perfect,” he says. “Worn tucked behind one ear makes it look more modern,” he adds.

I love it! And what is more it works perfectly with my black and white hair.

For years Michael had been advising me to stop colouring my locks dark brown. So pleased that finally, thanks to Covid and being stuck at home, I had the courage.

The condition has improved dramatically. No more dryness and split ends. The hue is soft against my complexion, meaning less make-up, only a swipe of natural lip gloss to enhance my pink lips.

With Michael’s amazing cuts, far from grey being ageing, it actually makes you look fresher and younger.
