Spotlight on Clinique Naturally Glossy Mascara in jet black

Mascara is one of those products that we seem to not to be able to do without. Whether you want volume, length, or curl there is one for you.

While mascara may be the cosmetic item that women cannot live without, men don't appear to hold it in the same regard.

A few years ago I conducted a survey about what men thought about women and make-up. The most hated cosmetic item, according to the men I interviewed who were aged between 20-45, mascara came out tops. Why? Because most men like make-up to look natural as if the woman is not wearing anything. Some mascaras, especially those that volumise can clump lashes together making them look false.

While I dress and wear make-up to please myself, I am in agreement that make-up should enhance not detract. Which is why Clinique Naturally Glossy Mascara in jet black (£19) is my go-to mascara.

It defines, lengthens and separates so that your lashes look good. Another plus is that there are no smudges.

Spotlight on L'Occitane Aromachologie Nourishing Hair Care

New from L'Occitane are these three great products that will help restore parched hair to its former glory. Packed with goodies including olive oil and five essential oils, of cedar, lavender, camomilla, lemon and eucalyptus, the products have been formulated so that your hair feels silky soft without it being weighed down. Another plus is that they are also free from sulfates and silicones.

The range consists of the Nourishing Care Shampoo (£19) and Nourishing Care Conditioner (£19). I really like the Nourishing Care Balm-Mask (£26) which you use once or twice a week. This delivers a great conditioning boost in only three minutes. I leave a tiny bit in the ends, especially in humid weather, as it helps keeps frizz at bay.

This is a lovely range of hair products which made a noticeable difference to my locks.

Spotlight on MAC Lip Conditoner, £13

This is not a paid post. Products are press samples.

Whatever the time of year, your lips can become parched. MAC Lip Conditoner (£13) is lovely and hydrating without being sticky or greasy. It gives a flattering soft sheen so you can go without lipstick. I like the fact it comes in a tube so it is hygienic. I hate putting fingers into pots when I am on the go.

I also wear this under lipstick as it helps keep my lips in good condition. When my lips feel particularly dry I put it on before I go to bed.
