Spotlight on Clinique iD

This is not a paid post. Products are press samples.

I have been a fan of Clinique since I was a teenager. It is the first skincare and make-up brand I ever used. I have sensitive skin and have always found the moisturisers to be exceptionally good.

But in the 21st century women are realising that they all have individual concerns regarding their skin. In other words, the same moisturiser will not work for everybody. Women today want a product that meets their specific needs and wants.

Quick on the uptake, Clinique iD focuses on its iconic Dramatically Different Moisturising lotions. First you choose your base, Dramatically Different Moisturising Plus, Hydrating Jelly, or Oil-Control Gel. Next you choose from one of the five colour-coded concentrated cartridges that have been created to address a particular concern such as fatigue, lines and wrinkles and irritation.

The cartridge fits inside the moisturiser so with each pump you have base mixed with 10 per cent active ingredient.

I chose the orange one which is for fatigue and for the base I opted for the Dramatically Different Lotion + (£36).

There are 15 combinations altogether so you are bound to find one that meets your requirements.
After using this for a couple of weeks my skin does look fresher and brighter. This is such a great idea. As we all know, your skin changes from time to time. Now your skincare can change as well.

Step into spring with these make-up tips

This is not a paid post. Products are press samples.

Bright eye shadows and vivid lips look stunning on the runways but for most people, especially those with mature skins, it can be an extremely tricky look to pull off.

Gloss may also be back for 2019 but it is important not to overdo it, especially if you are of a certain age.

Natural make-up is always chic and stylish.

Here are some great products to try.

Bobbi Brown Luxe Eye Shadow, Melting Point, £27
A gorgeous coppery shade that has just the right amount of shine. Has a good concentration of pigment and lasts well. Sweep across eyelid for dramatic effect or use in the corners of the eye to give you that wide-awake look. Just add a touch of mascara and you are ready to go.

Sisley So Volume Mascara 3D Fortifiant, Deep Black, £45, www.sisley-paris.co.uk (Available Feb 1)
A superb product from this highly-respected company that offers skincare, make-up and fragrance using the best quality botanicals fused with science. This formula nourishes and makes lashes appear thicker and longer as well. The colour enhances the whites of your eyes. Has a good wand which enables you to coat even the smallest of lashes. Result: a fabulous flutter.

MAC Powder Blush in Dame, £19.50
MAC’s blushers are usually highly-pigmented but Dame is not. It is so natural. In fact this is probably my all-time favourite. It is a pretty pink with flecks of blueish micro shimmer that blend with the skin to give you that sun-kissed look.

Bobbi Brown Extra Lip Tint in Bare Raspberry, £25.50
This is a lovely shade which adds a tint of colour and makes your lips look plumper as well as feeling moisturised. For those that like a naturally made-up mouth with a little oomph, this is perfect. It gives a lovely sheen without being sticky. There are two other new shades, Bare Nude and Bare Blackberry. They are all subtle.
