Spotlight on Clinique Pep-Start lip treats

This is not a paid post. Products are press samples.

For as long as I can remember I have had dry, sensitive lips. So I was in seventh heaven when I discovered the recently-launched Clinique Pep-Start Pout Restoring Night Mask (£16).

Put it on before you go to bed or whenever your lips are parched, to give them a much appreciated thirst-quenching drink. In an instant they feel better, more hydrated and look plumper. Use on its own or under lipstick. I don’t leave home without it.

If you are a real dry-lip sufferer and you like some colour on your lips, tinted balms are the way to go as they do not settle into fine lines as lipstick can. They are also good for keeping your lips in good condition especially in cold weather.

I am loving the new Pep-Start Pout Perfecting Balm (£16) which comes in three shades, guava (a pretty pink), cherry and tangerine. They give a subtle sheen and look natural and stay on well. There is also a clear one which looks great on its own if you have highly-pigmented lips or you can wear it under your favourite lippy.

The best nude eye shadows

This is not a paid post. Products are press samples.

Nude eye shadows are great for brightening up your eyes, hiding any discolouration and adding definition without looking made-up. The trick is to find one that works with your skin tone.

Clinique Lid Pop in Vanilla Pop, £15.50
This is a soft light creamy powder with golden undertones and a satiny finish. Great when you want to enhance your lids with a touch of colour. Blends easily.

MAC Brule Eye Shadow in Brule, £13.50
This is my go-to eye shadow when I need something to make me look wide awake. It is a creamy-beige with a soft sheen. Blends well and does not settle into creases as powders can do.

Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes in Grandest Gold, £18
Lovely for the days when you want a bit more oomph, this shade gives the lids a pretty wash of colour without too much shimmer. It has a creamy texture and is easy to apply. Stays put and does not fade.

Spotlight on Clinique Even Better Glow Light Reflecting Makeup SPF 15, £27

This is not a paid post. Products are press samples.

This oil-free lightweight foundation gives your skin a gorgeous glow without looking as if you are wearing anything. It is also lovely and moisturising which is perfect for the colder days ahead.

Laced with vitamin C it helps to brighten your skin and make any imperfections less visible. It also contains salicylic acid which will, Clinique says:”provide mild exfoliation” so skin tone is improved over a period of time.

It has a soft, silky consistency which goes on smoothly and did not cake or crease, even after a busy day rushing around town. There is a good selection of shades so you should find your perfect match.
If, like me, you are a fan of foundations that look natural on, then you will like this.
