Great creams to boost winter skin

This is not a paid post. Products are press samples.

The cold weather may give your cheeks a rosy glow but it can also leave your skin feeling dry. Here are three great creams that will help take care of your complexion over the winter months.

Do not forget to apply sun screen, especially if you are spending time outside.

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief, £34
This lightweight non-greasy cream/gel will be your best friend over the winter months (or for that matter any time your skin cries out for a drink of moisture). From just one application you will notice a difference. It absorbs easily and makes your complexion feel as soft as silk and look visibly plumper. In the evening, I add a tiny amount to the top of my cheekbones to add a sheen. This is has been a firm favourite of mine for years.

Yves Saint Laurent Top Secrets All-in-One BB Cream in light, SPF 25 PA++£39.50
As well as hydrating the skin it helps to protect it from the environment as well as hiding imperfections. Makes you look fresh and wide awake.

Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Silky Cream - Normal to Dry Skin, £36
This cream has light texture which sinks into your complexion leaving it feeling super hydrated. There is a version with a sunscreen but I prefer to use a separate one.

Eau Thermale Avène Crème peaux intolérantes, rich, £16.50, Boots
A favourite brand of French women, the range has been developed with a minimum of ingredients. Free of preservatives, parabens, fragrance and alcohol, this rich cream is ideal for those with sensitive skins. Infused with Avène Thermal Spring Water, it will calm any irritation and redness while protecting your complexion. It is surprisingly light and will not leave your face feeling greasy.
