Spotlight on No.00 Auriel by ODIN New York

From this New York based fashion retailer comes another exciting edition to its Black Line fragrance collection.  No.00 Auriel (£125, Fenwick, Bond Street), a unisex scent which has an equal balance of masculine and feminine notes throughout its composition.

There is an initial burst of berries and herbs which dries down to a heady spicy rose absolute laced with jasmine sambac and sweet muguet. The roots of black agarwood and a hint of sandalwood and patchouli give the scent a delicious warmth.

Perfumes smell different on each of us. On me it dries down to a pleasant almost powdery fragrance. It’s sexy and seductive.

Spotlight on Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Brow Gel

We all know how well-groomed, defined eyebrows can make a difference to the face but sometimes pencils and powders can smudge and do not always last all day.

Trust Bobbi Brown to come up with the answer. Her new Long-Wear Brow Gel (£17) is easy to apply using the Dual-Ended Brow Definer/Groomer Brush (£26). The angled brush comprises short, stiff bristles which give you great precision.

If, like me, you want to achieve a natural look, take Bobbi’s tip and lightly sweep through the brows to coat each hair with pigment. If you like your brows to be more defined, simply exert more pressure on the brush which will add some pigment on to the skin at the root of the hairs. Use the groomer end of the brush to comb your brows into place.

This gel-wax will keep your brows looking immaculate even on those hot, humid days. It comes in a selection of shades so you should be able to find one that works for you.

Spotlight on Yves St Laurent Rouge Volupté Shine

Coming in a gorgeous array of colours, YSL Rouge Volupté Shine (£26), is an oil-in-stick lipstick that will not dry your lips out. Bursting with hyaluronic microspheres, anti-oxidants and emollients, this creamy-textured lipstick is a joy to wear all day long.

If you have been put off wearing lipstick because your lips feel too dehydrated and rough, this one might just change your mind.
