No7 Beautiful Skin Micellar Cleansing Water for Normal / Dry Skin

Miscellar waters have been talked about for a while now. Formulated to help the ladies of Paris combat the effects of their hard water, they have been available in pharmacies in France for years and have become extremely popular in the UK.

Micelles (tiny oil molecules) are suspended in water which work once they touch the skin to cleanse and get rid of make-up without rinsing so you are left with a clean complexion in just one step.

No7 Beautiful Skin Micellar Cleansing Water (£8.50), enriched with a mix of multivitamin and mineral, did a good job of getting rid of my tinted moisturiser and eye make-up. So many cleansers leave your skin feeling taut but after using this one my skin felt hydrated after use.

Particularly good for those with dry and sensitive skin. I also would take a bottle with me when travelling as you never know what the water will be like.

Spotlight on essie Gel Couture

In 1981 Essie Weingarten launched her first 12 offbeat nail polish colours. Since then essie polishes have become a firm favourite with women of all walks of life all over the globe.

Whether you like dramatic or natural, essie has one of the best ranges of colours that you could wish for. Cult classics such as ballet slippers have, allegedly, even graced the hands of the Queen. The polish is good quality, glides easily on to the nails and wears well.

Now, thanks to the recently launched essie Gel Couture, you can have a long-lasting manicure in only two steps. You apply two coats of the special chip-resistant gel-like  polish – no need for a base coat as it is already built-in – and finish with the quick drying top coat which gives an incredible shine.

sew me

There are 25 shades (£9.99 each, Boots) in the collection ranging from nudes to brights. The cute curved bottle has been designed to resemble the “twirling dresses of the runway”. The brush seems to hug the curve of your nail so you get better coverage.

rock the runway

I love fairy tailor, a sheer nude pink which looks elegant on. If you prefer a creamy peach, give sew me a whirl. For a classic red that looks really classy on hands and feet rock the runway is hard to beat.

These polishes offer the benefits of a gel manicure without having to use a UV lamp to dry your nails and they can be removed easily.

Review of the Dyson Supersonic

Dyson’s Supersonic (£299, John Lewis) may promise fast drying, have a motor in the handle and not the head, easy to direct airflow and have a smoothing nozzle which is supposed to dry and style your hair simultaneously but, unfortunately, my locks were left fluffier and frizzier than when I use my trusted Parlux 3200 Compact.

It also claims to be much quieter than a usual dryer. Mine is not too noisy so this would not sway me.

A plus for the Dyson is that it does check the temperature every 20 seconds so helping to prevent the hair becoming damaged by heat. And as we all know, too hot air is not good for our crowning glory. I also like the way that the nozzles fit magnetically to the dryer

But I will not be giving up my normal dryer and investing £299.
