Four great lip balms

This is not a paid post. Products are press samples.

To prevent your lips becoming dry and chapped in the cold weather, here are four balms that can instantly relieve discomfort and make them feel soft and moist again.

Clarins HydraQuench Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm, £19.50

The perfect solution for dry lips. It contains shea butter and essential rose wax which enhances your own lip colour. Feels good on and tends to stay put for ages.

Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss in Lilac, £17
This lovely lip balm not only injects moisture and contains antioxidants to protect, it also has the added bonus of a gorgeous tint of pearly lilac-pink to brighten your complexion. Currant, a deep pink is a lovely plummy shade. Another plus is that you easily apply them without having to use a mirror.

Eucerin dry Intensive Lip Balm, £6, Boots
This is a heavy duty gel that brings instant relief to my irritated lips. It gives an instant boost of hydration. It prevents them from cracking and stinging.  I like the fact that you can apply it from the tube so it is easy to use any time and place. It does not have any taste and gives a lovely shiny finish to the lips.

Nivea Hydro Care Lip Balm SPF 15, £1.55, Superdrug
This non-greasy balm absorbs quickly into the lips leaving them feeling super soft. It has the added benefit of an SPF.
