Summer hair helpers

This is not a paid post. Products are press samples.

Long, hot sunny days are beautiful but when humidity strikes it can make even the tamest hair become wild.

While I often see articles in newspapers and magazines saying products will get rid of frizz, in my experience it is virtually impossible to find one that will completely eradicate it. Here are products which can help keep your locks in shape.

MONTIBELLO TREAT NATURTECH Repair Active Mask, £16.45, (for stockists visit montibello.com)
A great product from this Spanish family-owned company. For parched hair that needs a helping hand to restore it to its former glory, this intensive nourishing repairing mask is ideal.

Davines Love Hair Smoother, £18.70, Liberty London
If you have coarse or textured hair, this great product from Davines will help calm it. Loaded with olive extract, it is rich but will not weigh your hair down. Its instructions recommend that you use it on wet hair after conditioning however I have used a small amount on dry hair to help fight an attack of fuzz and it radically improved it.

Umberto Giannini Miracle Worker Smooth Serum, £8, Boots
An extremely versatile product that is great on dry, rebellious hair. You can use it on wet or dry hair. As it contains argan oil and silicon it helps keep your locks in good condition as well as taming those annoying flyaways. The Miracle Worker Smooth Serum can also be used as a heat protector. It is a convenient size to keep in your handbag when you are on the go.

MONTIBELLO Smart Touch 12-in-1 Bi-Phase Conditioner, £16.90, (for stockists visit montibello.com)
This leave-in conditioner can be used on wet or dry hair. It has a myriad of uses. Besides moisturising, nourishing and adding volume, it protects against damage from heated appliances as well as having UV protection. Perfect for protecting coloured hair. Another plus is that it is an aid in the battle of frizz control. It is light and does not weigh the hair down.

Lee Stafford Air Dry Foam £7.99 and Air Dry Cream Lite £7.99, Boots
Fighting with a hairdryer in hot weather is never easy. Leaving your hair to dry naturally would be a dream but for most women it usually ends up looking like a ball of frizz which is not exactly flattering.

These two new products from Lee Stafford are formulated to create tousled wavy hair without any effort. Lee says the secret is to mould and shape hair when it is wet. I tried the Air Dry Foam which gave good lift. My hair does not really look good when just left so my saviour was the cream which you can use to blow-dry your hair as it moisturises and contains a heat protectant.
